Program
Shin-hee Chin is a Korean American fiber and mixed-media artist and professor based in Kansas. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at the Textile Museum in Washington, DC; the Metropolitan Art Museum in Tokyo; and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Deoksugung Palace, Seoul. We are pleased to welcome her and hear her lecture "Threads of Thought: Art, Quilt, and the Human Hand".
Workshop
Shin Lee Chin will present a workshop that spans two days, giving us time to explore and conquer a random weave and stitch a tree project as she provides hands-on tutoring. Details of this workshop will be forthcoming.

Chris' lecture will be a presentation of Redwork quilts. She will be bringing several examples from her personal collection of antique quilts. She is a certified quilt appraiser and has judged many quilt shows.

Our very own beading expert, Linda Mezney, will take us on a "Walk Through the World of Beading" as she shows examples and relates tales of her own beading journey.

Program
Salley Mavor is a felt and fiber artist who works in miniature 3-D. Her work is the
illustration in several charming children’s books. Her creations have been exhibited in several museums. We will have the pleasure of her company via Zoom.
Workshop:
Linda and Chris will lead this felted ornament process.
March 15, 2027

Program
Trunk show of English Smocking. Chris Holmes will speak all about English smocking- several children’s garments and doll clothes will be on display. The follow-up to this talk will be the project slated for our May retreat at Lutherdale, a smocked pin cushion.

Workshop:
Learn basic smocking as you use surface embroidery over pre-pleated fabric to create a smocked pin cushion. Pleated fabric, mini piping, floss and backing, and smocking design will be provided. Kits will be of various colors. Provide your own favorite embroidery needle and thimble if desired.

Program
Judy Caruso's areas of specialty are Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery, Surface Embroidery, and Hardanger. Judy teaches many of her own designs as well as beginner-level surface embroidery stitches. Residing in the Madison WI area, she has taught throughout the US including for the Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild and the Embroiderers’ Guild of America.
Workshop
Her workshop design is called ‘Mini Beauty’ for which you will learn basic
techniques of Brazilian Embroidery.

cooking or dishes, just needles and thread. Two hours away awaits a beautifully appointed hotel style retreat center on the shore of Lake Lauderdale. More detail will be forth coming as we draw nearer the date.
